I appreciate how this story attempts and in my opinion succeeds in creating an enjoyable narrative which explains and if not explain then creatively uses many of Earth's myths and ancient stories of humanities possible extraterrestrial origins and the race of "Gods" responsible for humanity as we know it today!! It's like a certain History Channel show with a family oriented love story at its core!! I especially like the deep and abiding love between Steven and Ashley!!! Also I like the adult treatment of an adult relationship!! So many science fiction novels/stories treat sex and adult relationships as if no matter how old the characters are supposed to be, they are emotionally still in Middle School!! This story is refreshing!! I have made some of the same jokes with my wife that Steven has made with Ash!! But even if I didn't, adults appropriately interact with each other in adult ways using adult language and I appreciate their adult intimate interaction!! Sex is an important part of life and one of humanity's basic drives and needs!! A story that treats sex as if we are all prepubescent and uncomfortable with sex, is to me a bit dishonest and tiresome!! I can't wait to read about their ongoing adventures!!Product details

Ashlyn is a female version of the science/fantasy adventure hero in the mid-70's series of books; 'The Richard Blade series" written by a series of authors identified by the name 'Jeffrey Lord'. whom told the stories of Richard Blade's adventures of being sent by a computer into other varying and different dimensions/worlds..
I loved it and it's the best inter-dimension//worlds book that I have read since reading the Richard Blade series back in the 70's & 80' while in the US Army and then Air Force! .

Again I am amazed at the direction of the story. I have always said that if your gonna do science fiction them do science FICTION, meaning just go and go anywhere no holds bared no restriction and anything is truly possible. I am a huge fan of British Sci-Fi because of just that. Thank you for a brilliantly written fast paced book. Impatiently awaiting the next one.
I enjoyed 2287 A.D. and 2288 A.D. The premise and characters in these books are based mostly on supernatural myth and legends, not science. 2287 started with some science/technology and had more religious references in it later. 2288 has much less science and religious references making it purely fantasy. There is some sex, nudity (mostly non-sexual) and a lot of violence in both books. I think there was more nudity and less sex in 2288. If you enjoy adult fantasy and characters with supernatural powers battling dark forces, you will probably enjoy these books. I think the books are more like The Shannara Chronicles or Game of Thrones than science fiction. Ashlyn and Steven move between dimensions and time in 2288. There is some romance, but mostly action. The book follows Ashlyn facing many challenges usually alone using her super powers as well as using her sword in battles. She happens to be nude through most of the book as depicted on the alternate book cover, but it is not mentioned too much during the story. The book has some unexpected twists. I look forward to a third book.
This is the 2nd in a Trilogy and you don't want to miss it.
I was leary of starting a new author especially with a trilogy but, READ THIS TRILOGY, it truly has been a excellent and exciting story and I can't wait for the next chapter and if possible imagine it as a series? (that would be awesome) Anyway I literally could NOT put this down, I haven't been this excited about reading in 30 years.
This was a good next installment, I'm not a fan of involving time travel to get out of a situation; however, this was a good story and it moves along quite well. 2287 AD was so good this one had a huge shadow, but if you enjoyed 2287 AD this is a must. I am looking forward to 2289 AD.
It is a good book building on the 2287 AD story line. While there is still some sexual content it's much toned down (much of the explicit content in 2287 was rather gratuitous and didn't really add to the story line). I also noticed a lack of input from Steven's perspective but that story is still unwritten ;D. I look forward to the next episode later this year.
The story didn't match up from the first book. And introducing time travel feels like a cheap trick. A better escape for Steven from Enlils trap would have been the mind meld that he and Ash have. No matter how well Enlil can copy Stevens form he couldn't copy his way of thinking. That is something that Ash would have picked up on immediately.
The opening 40 pages or so were redundante I love yous between Steven and Ashlynn. It could have been better served with a bit more sex then into the story.
I won't recommend this series until i know how the third novel plays out. It has the oppertunity to continue to develop an interesting scify story, but it could just as easily come up short.
